The international participants will dive into the atmosphere at the unique fur microcosm in Western Macedonia region of Greece, which has been active in the fur sector for more than 1.400 years, and thus represents both fur strong’s historical heritage and modern innovation.

As a part Fur Europe’s Youth Initiative, the summer school students will go through a programme that focuses on entrepreneurship, craftsmanship, design, business, ethics and communication. The Fur Summer School takes on Fur Europe’s 360 degree approach to sustainability which includes animal welfare, transparency, environment, skills, by-products and biodiversity.

Participants are primarily European but the Fur Summer School also have attendants from outside Europe. The interest for the Fur Summer School has been massive in the three previous editions of the course, and the organizers expect to fill in all seats again.

- We started from scratch three years ago, but the popularity was instant. I think it’s the mix fur provides. Fur has an incredible history as the oldest product in the world, and it’s at the centre of both social debates and international fashion catwalks. It’s serious, fun and creative at the same time, and I think this crazy uniqueness is just fundamentally attractive to a lot of people, Adam Gono, Fur Europe’s summer school coordinator, says.
