Leadership Change At Kopenhagen Fur

Kopenhagen Fur’s Board of Directors has announced that Chief Commercial Officer Jesper Lauge Christensen will be named Chief Executive Officer, effective from December 1, 2018. He will replace Jesper Uggerhøj, who from January 1, 2019 will become the new CEO for Danish food retailer Løgismose Meyers.

“Jesper Lauge Christensen is a capable and experienced businessman, with a detailed knowledge of all parts of our value chain. He has all the prerequisites to continue the important development of Kopenhagen Fur as the world’s leading sustainable fur auction house,” says Kopenhagen Fur Chairman of the Board Tage Pedersen.

Christensen has many years of experience working at Kopenhagen Fur, having over the last 18 years held positions including Director of Production, Head of Skin Collection, and most recently Chief Commercial Officer. He looks forward to continuing his career in the fur trade as CEO.

“I’ve almost grown up together with the company, where I was first employed as an engineering graduate in 2001,” Jesper Lauge Christensen says.

“Kopenhagen Fur is a company that develops continuously, securing the best possible conditions for the Danish mink breeders and ensuring the most effective platform for selling the world’s finest mink skins. I look forward to continuing that focus.”

Current CEO Jesper Uggerhøj has decided to pursue opportunities outside the company.

“I have received a challenge from Løgismose Meyers that I couldn’t say no to,” Jesper Uggerhøj says.

“It has been a pleasure to work at Kopenhagen Fur, which is a fantastic company with dedicated employees and shareholders. With many sustainable qualities, fur is a product that is one of the answers to today’s global challenges. It’s a business with a strong future, and I wish everyone good luck in the years to come.”

Board Chairman Tage Pedersen says that Jesper Uggerhøj’s retail knowledge was instrumental in guiding Kopenhagen Fur through several important changes, with a strategic focus on strengthening our leadership in sustainability and dedication to quality craftsmanship.

“We have come a long way, and I would like to thank Jesper Uggerhøj for his efforts,” says Pedersen.

The leadership change will be marked with a reception on December 6th, to be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Kopenhagen Fur.
