Fur fashion exhibitions show the latest trend of the fur industry
The 22nd Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics - Spring Edition (Intertextile) and the 24th China International Fashion Fair (CHIC) was held in Shanghai, China on March 16, 2016.
The three-day exhibitions attracted about 1000 industry insiders including professional fabrics manufactures, apparel manufactures, designers, researchers and fashionable brands representatives.
Co-organized by Kopenhagen Fur, China Academy of Art and Haining China Leather City, the exhibitions showcased the latest trend of fur industry in 2016 and 2017. The most fashionable fur materials were showcased in different themes, colors and styles.
The trend of fur materials has become a research question for China's top research institution, which will accelerate the speed of promoting fur as a fashionable material. Thanks to Kopenhagen Fur's efforts, the company cooperated for the first time with China's leading universities and industrial organizations to showcase the beauty of fur materials. This is of great significance to the whole industry.
The organizers hope to establish a bridge connecting designers, brands and materials, build up an effective communication system for the upstream and downstream of fur industry at these exhibitions. They also hope to make it possible for designers and brands to book special fur materials by deepening the relations between fur crafts and fashion industry.
In addition to the exhibitions, Kopenhagen Fur also held a seminar themed as 'Latest trend of fur materials in 2016 and 2017 from perspectives of young generation'. Shang Peipei, senior consultant on fashion and sustainability of fur material, and professor Tao Yin from China Academy of Art participated in the discussion. Professor Tao shared her understanding of fur material from perspectives of a young generation who were born in the 1990s.
At the CHIC exhibition, a seminar themed as '2016 International Fur Fashion Trend' was held. The guest speakers of this seminar include Kasper Scott Reinbacher, Vice President of Kopenhagen Fur, Su Baoyan, Vice Chairwoman of China Fashion Designers Association, and Tao Yin, professor of China Academy of Art. They shared their opinions on relations of Kopenhagen Fur and KICK design and innovation center, commercialization of fur in fashion industry, and the latest international trends of fur fashion industry.
