The "Fur" Future from Kopenhagen Fur’s Perspective — Sustainability and Brand Value Are the Answers to Co-Creating a New Landscape

On October 28th, the 2025 China (Daying) International Fur Expo officially kicked off at Xiya Fur New Town Square, Daying Town, Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province. On the afternoon of the same day, the "2025 China Daying International Fur Industry Development Symposium", hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce of I/E of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products (CFNA) and organized by the Henshui Daving Fur Industry Association, was held at the Conference Center of Zaoqiang County Hotel.

With the theme of "Heartland in Daying, New Map for Fur", this seminar gathered nearly 300 guests, including leaders of industry associations from China and Russia, e-commerce experts, market analysts, and representatives of industrial chain enterprises. They jointly discussed the challenges, opportunities and development paths during the period of in-depth adjustment in the global fur market.

After speeches by Wang Shibo, Executive Deputy County Magistrate of Zaoqiang County, Mark Oaten, Chief Executive Officer of the International Fur Federation (IFF), and Sergey Stolpov, President of the Russian Fur Association, the seminar entered the keynote speech session.

Sergey Stolpov, President of the Russian Fur Association, delivered a keynote speech themed Consumption Situation and Market Forecast of the Russian Fur Market, providing an in-depth interpretation of the industry's current status and future trends. He pointed out that the proportion of Asian buyers in high-end fur auctions has jumped to 60%, which is by no means accidental. It proclaims the awakening of a collective taste — consumers in emerging markets are rapidly completing the cognitive upgrade from owning "a piece of fur" to collecting "a work of art". The eastward shift of the industry is accompanied by an urgent demand for timeless texture.

Ms. Cui Yiyun, Chief Marketing Officer of Kopenhagen Fur, shared The Fur Code. She presented Kopenhagen Fur's 2025 development strategy, as well as an introduction to the new operational hub and projects promoting fur added value, to industry peers at the conference. Adhering to the accumulation and genes of the century-old brand, the company will leverage its consistent professional grading equipment and team to build a bridge for industrial value enhancement between the upstream and downstream of the industry. The newly released The Fur Code is a collaboration with China's well-known natural fur brands and professional celebrity stylists, accurately depicting the portrait of the new generation of consumers: they are sensory connoisseurs and also long-termists. They no longer pay for exaggerated logos or short-lived trends; their consumption is a vote for products with traceability guarantees, environmental commitments and emotional value. These elements, including traceability, environmental protection and emotional value, are what we call "tangible commitments". Additionally, it provides more perfect fur consumption scenarios and practical styling suggestions for natural fur enthusiasts.

Through the full-chain certification of "Breeding - Auction - Design - Retail", Kopenhagen Fur strengthens its "sustainability" narrative, reshapes the youthful and sustainable image of fur, helps Chinese fur brands tell good brand stories about environmental protection and sustainability, and meets the "long-termism" expectations of the new generation of consumers. She mentioned that in Daying, we have witnessed the magnificent transformation of a traditional industrial belt. What converges here is not only a large industrial cluster, but also vibrant creativity bursting forth towards "flexible supply chains, e-commerce and new product categories". For Daying and even Chinese fur enterprises, Kopenhagen Fur is their best strategic partner in moving towards high-endization and branding. We provide not only the world's top-quality fur raw materials, but also a complete set of quality endorsement and value enhancement solutions.

Kopenhagen Fur is willing to work with all partners who share the same vision to not only provide raw materials, but also define styles; not only tell stories, but also fulfill commitments, and write a new chapter of fashion.

An Changbao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Daying Town, Zaoqiang County, delivered a keynote speech on the topic of Overview and Competitive Advantages of Daying's Fur Industry, systematically elaborating on the foundation of Daying Town's characteristic industries and conducting an in-depth analysis of its core competitive advantages.

Mikhail Okintsov, President of the Russian Association of Garment Manufacturers and Distributors, stated in his speech themed A New Era of Cooperation Between Russian Wholesalers and Foreign Suppliers in 2025 that the procurement model of the Russian retail market has shifted from "large-chain procurement" to "small and fast", and clearly identified niche retailers, demand integrators and vertical retailers as the three major new forces.

Yulia Zakharova, a senior expert from Russian e-commerce platforms, shared How to Sell on Russian E-commerce Platforms and Increase Procurement Volume from Chinese Factories. She suggested that Chinese fur enterprises should actively layout on Russian e-commerce platforms, and rely on professional logistics and digital tools to achieve "direct delivery from factories to consumers across Russia".

Dmitry Morugov, heir to the Russian brand Mehasa, proposed the Fur Renovation model in his speech themed Win in the Market: Renovate Old Products to Open a New Chapter of Revenue Generation. He pointed out that the attribute of fur is not only a "durable product" but also "circular fashion", and the fur renovation business is expected to become a new growth point for Sino-Russian cooperation.

Tian Hong, Director of the Animal Products Department of the China Chamber of Commerce of Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products (CFNA), mentioned when analyzing the fur export trend over the past 10 years that China's fur export volume reached 293 million US dollars from January to June 2025, a year-on-year increase of 29%, ending the 10-year decline. Among them, Russia remains the largest market with the highest export unit price, and emerging markets such as Kazakhstan and Vietnam are also on the rise. He pointed out that China has shifted from a major exporter of fur clothing to a major exporter of raw materials, and the industrial chain is in a stage of restructuring. He suggested that Chinese enterprises need to accelerate the development of branding and certification, and carry out diversified market layout to avoid falling into the trap of "low-price competition".

During the interactive Q&A session, Jin Guoqing, President of Hebei Fur Industry Association, also expressed his views on the current domestic and international market situation.

This seminar is not only a high-level dialogue in the international fur industry, but also a collective reflection of the global fur industry in the context of changes. From raw material shortages and market differentiation to the rise of e-commerce and sustainable transformation, challenges and opportunities coexist. As the President of the Russian Fur Association said: "All current challenges have opened up new business opportunities for us."

Kopenhagen Fur is willing to work with partners from China's "Tianxia Qiu Du (Global Fur Capital)" and the global industrial chain, taking traceable quality as the cornerstone and sustainable development as the vision, to jointly open a new chapter of a confident future for the fur industry.
