New Auction Dates Announced
Kopenhagen Fur’s finest job is to support mink breeders and secure the best possible product and service to all of our customers. Kopenhagen Fur has therefore adapted to the current international restrictions and can now announce a series of adjustments to the auction calendar. These adjustments make it possible to fit two additional auctions this season, at a time where the outbreak effects are expected to wane.
In addition to the online auction taking place on 9-12 June, Kopenhagen Fur will hold auctions in July, August, and September, as follows:
- June 9-12 | Digital auction
- July 10-17* | Inspections from 3 July
- August 17-26 | Inspections on 10-16 August
- September 20-29 | Inspections on 14-19 September
Things are looking brighter, and a physical auction may be a possibility soon
In the last few weeks, the world has seen a reduction in the number of new coronavirus cases, a positive development that has motivated several governments to gradually start a reopening process. This has brought the discussions on the opening of the borders back to the table, with some countries gradually lifting their travel bans.
In Denmark, early lock down measures served to avoid a major outbreak, and the country is now undergoing a cautious reopening process, focused on the reactivation of the economy. Despite the unpredictability of the situation, Kopenhagen Fur hopes that postponing the main auctions to the second half of 2020 will help reduce the uncertainty that has affected the beginning of the auction season. With some luck, it could also open the door to holding the July, August, and September auctions physically in Glostrup.
