NORWEGIAN TYPE X EDDA – Nature as fashion

Three spectacular styles make fox fur into pop art

To celebrate our new label of exclusive Norwegian Type fox fur skins, Kopenhagen Fur partnered with talented womenswear designer Edda Gimnes, shortlisted for the prestigious 2018 LVMH Prize, to create a capsule collection that melds the clean vitality of Nordic nature with a cheerful urban flavour.

It’s a collection that pushes the envelope on how fox fur can be used. From flowing, dynamic collars that draw the eye, to three-dimensional bursts of colourful detail. The London-based Norwegian-born designer’s naive sketches and playful tailoring are at the intersection of art and fashion, inviting the wearer into a mix of zany lines with a pop art palette.

- I love London and I love city life, but I also love coming back to Norway where there is that peace and tranquility you have with being so close to nature, Edda says and adds:

- The fantastic thing about working with fox is that you can do so much with so little, and really juxtapose natural, organic patterns to get a modern metropolitan vibe.

Edda’s designs have been worn by numerous luminaries in music and the arts, such as Lady Gaga, Lena Dunham, and Gigi Hadid.
