Saks Potts Launches Collection 14 ‘BIKER’ Counting their Eleventh Collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur

Copenhagen-based Saks Potts presented their new collection titled “BIKER” on February 26 during Paris Fashion Week and hereby showcasing their 11th collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur. The presentation took place at L’Art de l’Automobile’s garage in the 7th arrondissement, and draws inspiration from the world of biker culture, R&B icons and city life.

Lewis Hamilton’s motorcycle was placed on a podium, surrounded by supercars and models showcasing the clothes.

Collection 14 walks the line between badass biker and R&B icon: newly added styles present an expression of femininity and self-assuredness. The collection expands on Saks Potts’ universe of colourful furs created in collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur, the SP monogram, and playful body suits by adding new lace styles and two new prints (Techno and Chocolate Wave).

Saks Potts takes inspiration from daily life and do not subscribe to the view that a statement piece can only be worn once or twice a year. Instead, they design with practicality in mind; they want their pieces to be worn often and eventually passed down to future generations.

The latter can be seen interpreted in Saks Potts’ choice of fur for their collections. When working with fur, Saks Potts can dive into their love of tactility and playfulness, while also creating pieces that can last for 30 years. All fur styles are created in collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur, who supports the technical part of working with fur with specialist furriers.

Saks Potts and the fur

With an upbringing in Copenhagen, Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts realized that the main investment piece in a woman’s wardrobe should be a beautiful coat. As the weather is chilly in Scandinavia most of the year, outerwear is all you see when you look around.

Launching with a range of racoon fur coats in playful colors, fur is a part of Saks Potts’ DNA. In 2014, Saks Potts partnered up with Kopenhagen Fur in the making of their col. 3 (AW15) and the brand has collaborated with the fur house on all their SS and AW collections ever since. Latest, Saks Potts and Kopenhagen Fur have worked together on their eleventh collection together for the vibrant brand’s col. 14.

Their designs represent unusual aesthetics: playful colours and delicate materials, such as fur. The collections are not based on short-term trends and are meant to work beautifully across seasons and generations, showcasing each item’s versatility and timelessness.

Saks Potts has received numerous international accolades and has been worn by the likes of Rihanna, Beyoncé, Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Rosalia, Kendall Jenner and Leandra Medine. They are stocked by some of the world’s most esteemed retailers including Ssense, Nordstrom Space, Selfridges, Luisaviaroma, Galeries Lafayette Champs Elysees & Bergdorf Goodman.

“The most exciting thing about working with Saks Potts, has without a doubt been Barbara and Cathrine’s reinterpretation of combining fur with other materials” Maria Ottosen, furrier at Kopenhagen Fur, says about their collaboration,  “In our first collection collaborations, fur was mostly a small part of the actual styles, where we in the latest collections even have produced full fur coats customarily with print too.” She continues.
