Major interest for Kopenhagen Fur at the largest textile fair in the World
Kopenhagen Fur participated at the World´s largest textile and fashion fair in Paris with a booth that, among other things, was visited by some of the largest fashion houses in the world.
The largest and most important fashion and textile fair, Première Vision, was held in Paris between 13 and 16 September. Kopenhagen Fur was represented in one of the gigantic halls next to others from the textile, leather and fur trade.
- We have had a very good fair at Première Vision. A great deal of interest was shown for us - from large international fashion houses, producers, auction customers, young design talents and students, says Mikkel Schou, furrier at Kopenhagen Fur.
At the booth, employees from several of Kopenhagen Fur's various departments were represented. For example, a representative from the Customer Department could be available for potential auction customers, whilst furriers guided fashion houses and design students in the use of fur in their designs.
- We received great praise for our booth - many said that it was the most inspiring at the fair. It was very clear that people were inspired by our fur techniques and that we push the limits for how the material can be used, says Mikkel Schou.
Among other natural materials
People from large, international fashion houses such Louis Vuitton, Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Dior, Hermès and Jimmy Choo stopped by Kopenhagen Fur's booth.
- Some of them had been specifically encouraged to come by us to be inspired. This just goes to show that they know us and find our work interesting, says Mikkel Schou.
Kopenhagen Fur has previously been represented at Première Vision. However, this was in the accessories department to catch the attention of people who may not previously had considered working with fur. This year, marked the first time the auction house had a booth in the leather hall, which makes sense, according to Mikkel Schou.
- It went surprisingly well and it seems more right that fur is represented among other natural materials, the furrier says.
