Danish mink farmers claim to produce the best mink pelts in the world. They are proud to explain that this was achieved through the free exchange of ideas and experience. Instead of competing against each other, they decided to stop seeing their neighbours as competitors, and accept them as partners. The combined effort on a national level to produce a better product has paid premiums to all Danish mink producers in the long term. Everyone who has and is contributing to the promotion of Danish mink is a winner.

In contrast to Danish mink production, southern African karakul production is spread over a vast area. One of the founding philosophies of this karakul website was to bring our karakul producers together, and especially provide an easy way for karakul producers, breeders and agriculturists to both publish and access information on all aspects of karakul production.

We can all learn from the Danish mink farmers, if we follow their example and give where we can, we will also gain from this effort and selfless generosity. In giving, we will always receive something in return. There is so much experience out there, please come forward and share your experience with all of us.
