Pelt Sorting Courses
Two three-day pelts sorting courses are held each year at The Pelt Centre. The aim is to provide an introduction to sorting with special reference to the basic value affecting areas such as:
Hair Quality
Hair Length
Pattern Coverage
Plus the imortance of recognising positive abd negetive Hair Formation, for selection.
We will also cover sensitive subjects such as: damage, size and crossbreeding.
For these courses to be affective, we have to limit the number of applicants to a maximum of 6 places.
The course has a degree of flexibility which allows for a producer to bring a parcel of pelts for assessment and discussion as a group.
The Karakul Board of Namibia provides food and refreshments for the duration of the course.
