Giorgio Furs started in New York in the late 1980s. By the early 1990s Giorgio Furs started looking for unexplored markets where the offer of beautiful fur garments was small.

Giorgio Furs quickly turned to Latin America, as many of its current customers came from this region. A decision was made to find a location in South America, where there was an interest in quality fur goods. Giorgio Furs wanted to introduce their own label, which stands for the highest class of fur garments.

After examining the different markets, Giorgio Furs chose to set up business in Peru. Due to the exclusiveness and high quality of Giorgio Furs’ products, the boutique in Peru quickly became the attraction for fur-wearing Chileans, Mexicans and Americans visiting the country.

The Latin American markets seem like an odd choice for most fur businesses. However, the climatic conditions make for an innovative approach to fur garments. Furthermore, the small size of the markets makes it possible for Giorgio Furs to focus on producing top quality rather than quantity. The boutique imports the best furs, cashmeres and silks from around the world in order to fulfil its philosophy of producing the most beautiful garments and providing the best service.
