Academy training in Haining

09 June 2008

- Our management and sales staff will certainly remember this day for the richness of learning and inspiration, said Mr. Zha Jialin, Vice General Manager of the Haining China Leather Market, at the end of the training session organised by the Kopenhagen Fur Academy in Haining on Wednesday 4 June.

Sixty participants from more than 30 different boutiques within the Haining China Leather Market participated in the session to learn about Kopenhagen Fur and its four quality labels, Kopenhagen Purple, Kopenhagen Platinum, Kopenhagen Burgundy and Kopenhagen Ivory. The training session, which was the second of its kind since the inception of the Kopenhagen Fur Academy, also gave advice to sales staff on how to offer personalised shopping assistance to their Chinese costumers.

Chinese consumers are becoming increasingly sophisticated and the Chinese market for fur and fashion evolves to become more and more competitive. Consequently, the need for specialised and knowledgeable sales staff is fast becoming a key requirement for success, something the Kopenhagen Fur Academy helps selected retailers to achieve.

Besides learning about fur and skin qualities, participants received thorough introduction to colours, trends and personal styling through participative and interactive sessions. The teaching about colours and styling, skilfully conducted by expert consultants, was not only intellectually stimulating but also directly translatable into practical sales-promoting knowledge, something convincingly expressed through the enthusiasm of participants.

Haining China Leather Market is one of the biggest specialised shopping centres in southern China. Its fur department, which supplements the other departments focusing on leather, shoes, accessories and jeans, hosts over 150 individual shops. More than 100,000 fur coats a year are sold in this fabulous venue in the middle of an attractive touristic area. Haining is located in eastern Zhejiang Province, two hours’ drive to the south of Shanghai. The per capita income in the province beat that of Beijing and Shanghai to become the highest in China last year.
