In support of victims of the recent, devastating Chinese earthquakes, ripping up large parts of China’s Sichuan province, Kopenhagen Fur hosted a charity event on Saturday 31 May jointly with Paris Spring, an exclusive shopping centre in the Northern Chinese city of Changchun.
The first such event ever in Changchun, the Kopenhagen Fur-Paris Spring charity event brought together 30 children aged 4 to 14 for a t-shirt drawing competition event. The children were introduced to the Olympic values of honour and honesty as well as the importance of solidarity as a basic human value and subsequently created vivid drawings with motives ranging from the Beijing Olympic Games to the suffering of earthquake-stricken families. Their drawings will be shown in Paris Spring’s fur section during the Olympic Games starting in China on 8 August 2008.
- To care is the most exclusive expression of luxury, explained Patrizia V. Christensen, Kopenhagen Fur’s Marketing Director.
- Today, fashion and care increasingly go hand in hand as we are talking of responsible production and fair trade, she continued.
Following on from the event in Changchun, Kopenhagen Fur participated in a charity auction on 1 June in Beijing organised by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and devoted to caring for kids. Other participants included Airbus and Boston Consulting Group.
- At Kopenhagen Fur we all feel strongly for the Chinese people. It’s so sad to see so many broken families, and so many children traumatised by the disaster. Kopenhagen Fur will do its utmost to help the victims, especially the children, says Mr. Torben Nielsen, CEO of Kopenhagen Fur.
