As Moscow fashion week concludes, another round of fashion shows is taking place as Russian fashion week unfolds with designer contests of which cuts and shapes should be currently considered most in vogue.
Seven of Russia’s top designers work with Kopenhagen Fur and all of them showcases during either Moscow fashion week or Russian fashion week.
At Moscow fashion week, intricate fur details were evident in designs by Igor Chapurin, Alena Akhmadullina and Alexander Arngoldt, all of whom work with Kopenhagen Fur. In addition to showing at Moscow fashion week, Igor Chapurin and Alena Akhmadullina also showcases during Parish fashion week.
- [They] really know how to use fur, and from the collections so far it really looks like they are enjoying working with this material, said Natasha Turovnikova, Kopenhagen Fur’s regional manager in Russia.
Commenting on the collection of Alena Akhmadullina, Suzy Menkes of the International Herald Tribune, wrote
[She] based her collection Friday on feathers, from printed silken dresses to leaf-and-plume effects on footwear. Some of her most intriguing workmanship was on fur, both in its russets autumnal colors and through a feather motif at the neck.
Moscow fashion week, which ended yesterday, is being succeeded by Russian fashion week, beginning today and unfolding through shows by Vivavox, Dimitry Loginov, Gayday and Nina Donis, four designers and labels working with Kopenhagen Fur.
