At the June auction Kopenhagen Fur sold 4.5 million mink skins at firm prices compared to the auction in April. Compared to the recent auctions in North America and Helsinki the mink skins fetched a significant rise in price. Read more...

There were a long line of people in front of the auction room on the last day of the Kopenhagen Fur June auction. Not, as one might assume, because the costumers wanted to get in the auction room, but because Kopenhagen Fur's Beijing office was handing out polo shirts.

The final day of the auction opened with an offering of Mahogany males, which was sold at almost firm prices. Mahogany females were sold in keen competition at rising prices of 10%.

The sale of 800,000 brown females at the fifth day of the auction surpassed all expectations, as Brown and Glow females fetched as much as 6% compared to Kopenhagen Fur’s last auction in April.

More than 500 customers are attending Kopenhagen Fur’s June auction and when the sale of Brown males started the majority was present in the auction room. The skins were in great demand and the price went up 3% compared to the latest auction in April. Glow males were sold in line with Brown. The sale of brown males surpasses all expectations and prices were considerably higher than the prices obtained at the most recent international auctions.

 

There was limited interest for Jaguar mink and only 76% and 95% of the skins were sold.

 

Yesterday’s offering of Blue Iris was sold at high prices. Violet females, too, were sold at high prices, whereas Violet males were met with some price resistance and only 83% of the skins were sold.

Exchange rate DKK 100 = USD        20.82

 

Palomino mink was the first type under the hammer at the third day of the auction. Males were sold at slightly easier prices. Females had a strong sale, as the skins fetched 6%.

 

Silverblue and Sapphire mink were sold at high prices at the auction in February. Silverblue males could not quite maintain the high level and the price dropped 7%. Females were sold at slightly rising prices.

 

Sapphire males were sold at firm prices, whereas females fetched 7%.

A reception for a happy Managing Director

Managing Director Torben Nielsen turns sixty on the 29th of June but Monday the 15th of June in the middle of the Kopenhagen Fur June auction, he held his birthday reception. Even the auction stopped for a short period so auction customers could wish Torben Nielsen a happy birthday.
