Snowcapped mountains as outerwear

The winner of this year's JFA Fur Design Contest received the Kopenhagen Fur Prize for her snow-inspired design and 20 mink skins and 10,000 DKK to work with.

Japan Fur Association (JFA) threw their annual JFA Fur Design Contest on the 24th of November this year at the Jiji Press Hall in Shanghai. Liu Chunchen, student from the Dong Hwa University in Shanghai, was this year's winner of the Kopenhagen Fur Prize, when Kopenhagen Fur sponsored the contest, which was first held in 2003.

The winner of the Kopenhagen Fur Prize would win the opportunity to choose from two prizes sponsored by Kopenhagen Fur. Liu Chunchen chose 20 mink skins to use for her designs along with 10,000 DKK. The other option was a four-day trip to visit Kopenhagen Fur's creative workshop, Studio, in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Liu Chunchen is currently enrolled in the Fashion Creation Department at Bunka Fashion College, where she majors in fashion technology which has been one of her sources of inspiration for her winning design.

-I designed the garment based on snowy mountains as my main theme. The coat itself was made out of denim and fur and I tried to create a look mirroring snow with white fox, Liu Chunchen says about the design, that secured her the Kopenhagen Fur Prize.
