The danish 'Hygge'
In the past few years, the Danish fashion industry has enjoyed a high reputation in China. The second edition of Miss Happiness for Kopenhagen Fur Competition has engaged the fur and fashion industry in both China and Denmark. The grand finale of Ms Happiness is also fully supported by the Danish Embassy in China. Ms Karin Gaardsted, the chairman of the Business Committee of the Danish Parliament, attended the event and shared the Danish concept hygge, which has brought fashion, youth, warmth and happiness to Chinese customers.
The show was kick started by seven European supermodels in a traditional Chinese qipao and Chinese opera performance. Each of the supermodels participated in one regional contest in the competition and acted as mentors to the competitors. Under their lead, the 20 finalists appeared wearing a wide variety of fur styles. The candidates had three tests: to strut the catwalk to prove their model calibre, to give a personal statement about happiness, and to put on their best talent show. All candidates were in top form and put on a brilliant show, thanks to the three days of professional training beforehand.
Great donations for Operation Smile
In the grand finale last year, Kopenhagen Fur and its partners raised a large amount for Operation Smile. The charity partnership continued this year, and 500,000 RMB has been raised to provide free cleft lip surgery to children in underprivileged families. In the past 20 years, Operation Smile has given happy smiles to 22,000 children and their families.
For the second year in a row, the competition was jointly held with six local partners: Yingdak Fur, Changchun Paris Spring, Taiyuan Li Sheng Fur, Dalian Shengbang Fur, Beijing Parodis Fur and Shanghai Mattia Fur. As leaders in the Chinese fur industry, they work closely together with Kopenhagen Fur to improve products and services for the consumers.
Mr Kenneth Loberg, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Kopenhagen Fur, stated: - We are very proud to see that more and more Chinese customers are choosing fur from Denmark.
