DGP_bredOn October 11th Kopenhagen Fur hosted the 14th annual design competition 'The Golden Fur Pin'. Nine Danish fashion students from design schools from all over Denmark had competed in the following categories: 'Menswear', 'Womenswear' and 'Homeware'.

Young talents, innovative thinkers and more than 400 guests from all over Denmark gathered for a spectacular evening yesterday night in Glostrup, where the 14th annual design competition The Golden Fur Pin was held. The smooth talking radio host Peter Falktoft did a great job presenting the finalist and their different styles. The styles where shown on a stage build as townhouse, and Peter Falktoft, also known as 'The snowball', delivered a brilliant performance as he made sure that guests, judges and participants had a night to remember.

Kopenhagen Fur is the largest auction house for fur in the world, and the headquarters in Glostrup normally looks like an ordinary production facility, but on this cold October evening the air was buzzing with a scent of luxury and finer fashion.  The event, the competition, and the night was a great success.

The Golden Fur Pin - Menswear

Ramona Jutta Reile, a student at Kolding School of design, won the Menswear category for her innovative jacket made of fox for men. The jacket was equipped with two mink satchels and combined both jacket and accessory in one stunning style.

The Golden Fur Pin - Womenswear

Lærke Koldskov from TEKO Design & Business won the Womenswear category with a beautiful knee-length dress which combined both plucked and shaved mink alongside leather. All the techniques and elements where brought together in a beautiful patterned dress worthy of a queen.

The Golden Fur Pin - Homewear

Rosita Gonzales Skjelmose had a great idea, which she transformed into a true innovative product. This is the reason why she won the Homewear category. The student from Margrethe Skolen created mink covers for bicycle seats. And the designs are truly extraordinary. The covers resemble furry cartoon faces. A fox, a rooster and a bear provides the framework for Rosita's winner styles.

The three winners of The Golden Fur Pin 2012 won internships at famous Danish designers, and a three-day trip to the Premiere Vision fair in Paris, France - including a visit at Le Cuir and Mod A'Mont.
