Paris presents the finest in fashion
10 July 2012Fashion & Lifestyle
From the 1st to 5th of July the most exclusive and well known fashion houses presented their Haute Couture collections at the Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2012-2013 in Paris.
The Haute Couture week offered a diverse programme containing shows from the big and classic fashion houses, as well as upcoming and innovative designers. The wide selection of styles offered exciting and new ways of using fur in fashion, and one could see mink, fox, swakara and chinchilla on the catwalks. Furthermore the Haute Couture week included several new approaches to haute couture designing in general.
"During this week I have seen several innovative and remarkable designs. To me these creations have made it clear, that we are seeing a 21st century new generation in the Haute Couture. Julien Fournier, Gustavo Lins, Iris van Herpen and On Aura Tout Vu are all a part of a new wave of designers, who are more daring when creating Haute Couture. Their styles are on one hand wearable, but at the same time they are altering the shapes and forms of traditional Haute Couture. They are an intermediate between fashion and arts" says Michael Holm, Design and Production Manager at Kopenhagen Studio.
Gustavo Lins, Julien Fournier and Yulia Yanina all left the impression, that the combination of dark colours and sharp colours like blue and red will be a fashion trend for the fall. Furthermore a massive presence of fur and feathers showed that Haute Couture this year is all about using natural elements in fashion.
Michael Holm finds Gustavo Lins to be one of the most
"Gustavo Lins has an architectural past and this is clearly seen in his creations. He is creating sculptures, and he is very stringent in his production of these minimalistic creations. This is not something you normally see in Haute Couture, and frankly I find it very interesting."
This fall/winter brings us great creations. In our gallery you will find pictures from Gustavo Lins, Iris Van Herpen, Yulia Yanina, Julien Fournier, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dior, Chanel and On a Tout Vu.
