On March 17th and 18th, Niu Wei Wei, Kopenhagen Fur's Miss Happiness, was celebrated in her home city Shenyang. The celebration took place first at Wei Wei's university, secondly in the Yingdak store where her Miss Happiness adventure first took off.
At Wei Wei's university, her and her classmates did a professional fashion show followed by a session where Wei Wei's mother, Zhang Xiaotang, and teachers expressed their feelings about Wei Wei winning the competition. Around 100 students on campus all gathered to celebrate the rising star who used to be just one of them.
'I am so grateful that Kopenhagen Fur saw Wei Wei's talent and offered her this opportunity to go international.' Zhang Xiaotang said. 'Throughout the whole process, I have seen that the Ms. Happiness competition is much more than a beauty contest. So, I believe that being associated with a brand like Kopenhagen Fur will get her off to the best possible start of her career'.
Miss Tao, Wei Wei's university teacher, was also proud to have
taught the Miss Happiness winner: 'It means a great deal for me
personally and for our university to see Wei Wei win. I am so happy
to have been able to help her achieve her dream. '
Mr. Xia Min, the Vice President of Shen Yang Norm University, participated in a student celebration event for the first time. In his speech, he said that this was not only a great achievement of Weiwei as an individual participant of the competition, but also a great honor for the whole University.
On Sunday, the celebrations continued at the Yingdak store where Wei Wei was first spotted in the Miss Happiness first round selection in October 2011.
At the press conference in store, Wei Wei told the local media: 'Growing up in an ordinary Chinese family, I never thought that my dream could come true so fast. But the Ms. Happiness Competition has really changed my life. It is undoubtedly the best possible path to my future. Going to Copenhagen Fashion Week, I got to see people living happily in the fairy-tale country - Denmark, and the fairy tale links me, fur and my future happiness tightly together.'
The press conference was followed by a very popular autograph signing by Wei Wei.
Chris Cui, General Manager of the Beijing office of Kopenhagen Fur: 'We only felt it appropriate to go back to where it all started to celebrate our Miss Happiness winner. I am impressed to see how Wei Wei has developed from the first round selection up until today and I am so glad to see that our effort in China has meant so much for the young talents here. I am certain that we will continuously contribute to the development of the fur trade in China as well as the growth of the young talents who will be the dazzling stars for the future of the world.'
