Danish design has never been so prominent in the hip-and-chic San Li Tun area in Beijing. The opening of Royal Smushi House on 4 September was attended by over 200 VIPs and celebrities, and Kopenhagen Fur staged a show to honour the essence of Danish design.

china1The Royal Smushi House is the asian counterpart of Royal Café in Copenhagen, the concept of mingling Danish design and culinary experience. The two-floor shopping restaurant houses a café serving Danish bread as its primary attraction. Furthermore it houses a restaurant offering Danish food in new ways, as well as a Georg Jensen shop and Monocle shop.
Being the world's leading fur skin supplier, Kopenhagen Fur sponsored the grand opening with a creative open-studio style fashion show named Colour-Fur Night, as it showcased the colourful and creative designs made by design students from Tsinghua University and leading Danish fur fashion brand Birger Christensen. There is no doubt that fur is at the forefront of Danish design and quality.

Mr Friis Arne Petersen, the Danish ambassador in China, commended Kopenhagen Fur in his opening speech.china2

- I could not fail to notice that Kopenhagen Fur is also presented here today. And they are much visible on the Chinese market, through their great marketing activities and its continuous support to the Chinese design students via its cooperation with the Tsinghua University. Their effort in China represents a good combination of top Danish quality product and creative Chinese design.

Among the celebrities were Ms Tian Wei of CCTV, Ms Xu Gehui and Mr Ruan Cishan of Phoenix TV. The celebration of the Danish fashion, design and food continued late in the evening with fur being an absolutely unforgettable ingredient among them all.
