Fur breeders constantly work to improve conditions for the mink

Research

The Danish Fur Breeders Association runs comprehensive research activities. Areas of research include management, animal welfare, feed, animal health, environmental conditions, product quality and breeding. In this way, fur breeders constantly work to improve conditions for the mink and to breed the healthiest animals in the most appropriate manner. Fur farming is subject to strict national and international regulations.

The association also co-sponsors a series of research activities at the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at Aarhus University. Several research activities are carried out in cooperation with the Danish Animal Welfare Society.
