20 June 2011Fashion & Lifestyle
Every year, Swakara creates an exclusive catalogue to show the world the endless possibilities that this exclusive material can offer designers.
The design of the next Swakara catalogue started on 15 June 2011.The Swakara catalogue is distributed to fashion magazines, retailers and the fur industry all over the world.
This year, Design Manager Michael Holm from Kopenhagen Fur, has invited two young talents to create the styles for this year's prestigious catalogue. The two designers invited to this project are Eliana Dimitrakopoulou and Jean-Phillip Dyeremose.
- Both of the young talents have proved that they have the talent to work with fur as a material and to create new styles that can inspire the fur industry - says Michael Holm
Eliana Dimitrakopoulou became known worldwide for her styles "Darwin" that she created in fur in cooperation with Kopenhagen Fur. The collection, entirely made in fur, was shown at The Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Eliana has won numerous prices and has for a long period worked with Vito Ponti creating the collections.
Jean-Phillip Dyeremose started his company "Jean-Phillip" when he was only 19 and is currently working on his 11th collection. Jean-Phillip collections are available in the major metropolises around the world including Paris, Milano and New York. His collections are for the modern, masculine man, who dares to twist his wardrobe just a little bit and still include the wear-ability and luxury that the collections can offer.
Both designers have been working on their collections at Kopenhagen Studio, benefitting from the expertise that Kopenhagen Studio's workshop can offer. Next step is the making of the prototypes in greys before the Swakara pieces are made up in real fur.
