Mink and men

Mink and men are not usually a combination that we see. However, those interested in fashion will know that fur has gone from a male fashion faux pas to being a must-have item.
Traditionally fur for men has mostly
been limited to trimmings, linings, hunting jackets and other posh,
boring items. But those days are over. More and more designers are
looking to the versatile fur materials when they create inspiring
street wear collections for men. The luxury of fur is a great
ironic comment to the rough edge street wear often has.
A great example of this trend is newly graduated Astrid Andersen's collection, where she combines fur with silk and nylon to make a collection for men. The award-winning student has made the collection in cooperation with Kopenhagen Fur.
- Astrid is a unique designer. She has an eye for cool, edgy design, but simultaneously she knows how to convert her artistic ideas into saleable pieces - something just as valuable as being able to draw sketches, says Design Manager Michael Holm.
Astrid Andersen's great skills were obvious at her recent graduation from Royal College of Art in London. Not only was she one of the most appraised graduates, she was also approached afterwards by a store that wanted to sell her collection. An honour that not many students have. Her fur styles have already created a buzz in London and several other stores have approached her for future cooperation.
